Minimum, Medium, and Maximum Security Prisons

Saturday, May 21st, 2011

Our facility is designed to accommodate such prisons convicted with a crime. One reason for the implementation of a criminal is in prison for rehabilitation. While in care within the housing, each criminal has to ensure adequate security, that no one ever escaped. The security measures are implemented to ensure that detainees during his sentence is safe from harm. The rights of all prisoners within the structure is well preserved, even if it provides some restrictions on the privileges, but as far as possible, they are the equal protection of the law. However, the degree of security because of his order committed to the intensity of the crimes.

Security measures in the factories that used to house a criminal in low, medium and maximum security classified. This is done to separate the guilty from the first time the most dangerous criminals. There is also a way to ensure that its low-risk offenders not affect the prisoner years old. conducted to better understand the different levels of security by the prison management and criminal prisoners to us to deepen the discussion about the three security classification, the beauty of the prison to assess knowledge.

minimum-security prison – that is, a classification of the prison, where security is implemented indulgent. It is designed for people convicted of crimes light house. The prisoners are not so well guarded, because most inmates are classified as low risk. Most of the crimes committed by the authors is low and most of them is the first time law-breakers. Prisoners have to interact more freedom of movement within the prison and which does not restrict to be with other prisoners.

medium-security prison – the security level in this particular category is not so easily applied, but not too tight. However, there are restrictions for certain privileges and movement of prisoners in jail.

Max high security prison – to the life sentence and the death penalty were placed in the prison system. This serves as the home of individuals at high risk and dangerous criminals. Prisoner movement is severely restricted and the activity of detainees is monitored closely. A very high level of security is implemented in the detention center.

Extremely dangerous prisoners are given a maximum security measure is used much less for the first time law-breakers. But no matter how we handle that criminals in prison, but we must respect his rights as a person.

What Human Rights?

Saturday, May 14th, 2011

We often hear from people, mostly foreigners, by the Court of Human Rights for one reason or another, and even in some cases led thousands to compensate, but that’s not the case for many of us.

Our two sons, now 25 years old and Paul Simon 27th Were “residents” in separate jails since May 2005, although their prices (at least) was one year. 295 days and 2 ½ years. respectively. Do not have an exact date for release in September

And while they may have no sympathy for offenders, I hope you will agree that there is something seriously wrong with our legal system so that this situation continues, particularly where the prisons are so full.

To the reason for my outburst, let me tell you some information at the end of this case: -

In 1990 they took two brothers, Simon and Paul, 5 and 7 years. , in each case from a background very neglected, where her parents were heroin addicts and the guys were pretty much left to live on their minds.

They had been in countless foster homes while their parents were either in prison or out of it “on drugs.

Paul is the oldest, has suffered more abuse, physically and mentally by his biological parents and even by some of the foster parents who “care” for them.
Both have things that children should not be subjected to very young ages seen.

Despite our efforts, both had with the police, etc., probation officers, juvenile delinquency employ teams, even when life with us.

Finally, data were borderline IPP (imprisonment for civil defense) penalties for violent crime jointly, after drinking heavily with a friend whose parents owned a pub committed.

IPP sentences were introduced in only a short time before our sons were sentenced in April 2005 in fact, the judge said, when he has a month were before, they would have sentenced approximately obtained. 5 years (in prison and a half in two years).

The reason for the minimum time limits laid down in IPP sentences that during this time, the offender, the various “Life” completed (the awareness of the victims, drinking and drugs, anger management, etc.), so that they reduce the risk to the public and win their next release.

What is actually happening is that there are so many IPP prisoners now because the waiting lists for these courses, very few are able to meet the conditions in the sense that it can be published.

From time to time feels now to short prison terms, if not only serve the community discharge or conditional release the murderers, rapists and pedophiles given.

What is the world coming to?!

Simon, the youngest was 19 years old when he was a young lifers’ Category B prison, where he was excellent advice and education.
Passed GCSEs in maths and English, has a tutor for the students to be less able and served as a mentor for new prisoners, but also the completion of all necessary “Life Course ‘.
Finally, with the governor and other officials from various recommendations “in the question, he went to his first Parole Board in 2007.

Here was told that he praised him for what he had done, but they wanted to see how to meet it in a prison for adults, sends him on a cat. C prison

Simon was very philosophical for this decision and said he saw the prison as at university. He took the blame for what he had done and wanted to prove that he amends for his earlier misdeeds.

Once again he has done everything asked and more in his subsequent imprisonment. He did the cleaning, servery, physical education and various other functions, perhaps not enough going for his final table in Word 2009th

Here he was out by the Committee for the grace that they were not willing to bet that he would not repeat offenders to take, with the result that, despite the recommendations of the Governor and many other officials who Tom was ready for publication He was sent to an open prison, cat. D.

While there are various tasks in the kitchen, cleaning, care for people with learning difficulties of a neighbor, painting and decoration, etc., all with the purpose to give him some experience working for life outside prison.

There were several weeks when the two came with us, his mom and dad on Saturdays, or took the train to “Sisters in Nottingham.

Through a friend, Simon got a job as a laborer in a new stretch of motorway between Leicester and Nottingham and arranged his accommodation to be able to take on the task.

Unfortunately, a few weeks later had the prisoners in the camp of their day with bottles of vodka, which Simon had returned a drink.
Later that evening, fight, after he had gone to bed in its class, if a boy is transported to the hospital for injuries was broke.

If blow all the prisoners were Simon and many others across the border.

Three prisoners who were not in the fighting, including Simon had taken over, taken to jail in Lincoln.

From there they were transferred to the prison to a review in the original sentence.

A few days later, Simon was informed that he will now be sent back to her cat. D prison would remain until the next Parole Board are taken in February and May 2011.

The governor and other officials are again like last time, “support” for his release, especially since he can not do more to reduce the risk of relapse or the public, and has completed all required courses of “Life”.

His probation officer said that, even if it is released, probably in a hostel rather than a private address that can not be sent in a position to work, but must be recorded as unemployed. (This seems ridiculous to everyone I know!)
The reason for this decision so that the authorities “keep an eye on it”, with courses in other breathalyzer test, etc.
Although it was finally allowed home, he is still the probation visit at least once a week, so this is very narrow in order to obtain employment is concerned. He will definitely be able to work to include that travel company.

It seems that because of the history of the early years before maturing into the person of common sense that he does not these days, Simon allowed to lead a normal life but will be retained even longer, so it’s hard to see how his life will never be “normal” again.

Paul, on the other side is further back in his progress through the prison.

A 21yrs. was Winson Green, Birmingham, sent an adult cat. B prison, where there are no facilities to take the “life paths”.

He was there for 14mths., Before he transferred to a prison for adult inmates, “(Category B) at the end of 2006.

He was happy to be sent there, but soon there was a 18 mth waiting list for the courses, as well as to be able to commence work.

Despite appeals from Paul and me were over the years because of his depressive mood “passed over” two sessions of the words for him because he had not completed all courses.

He was very happy when he transferred to another prison (Category B) this year, was transferred out hopefully soon be able to take his final course for Anger Management.

There is a Committee for the grace because of his AC. May 2011, when he hopes, a cat will be sent. C or cat. D prison.

And when he was 27 years old. old, Paul is wondering when (or if!) seem likely.

How long can this state, for IPP prisoners on?

I was told that no more IPP sentences being made because of the problems due to the number above, but this does not help to waste the thousands already their lives under these circumstances.

We hear of prison suicide, bullying, and Riots, but can we really be surprised when the prisoners lives are put “on hold” because this is not their fault be?

I know that for many is a big risk factor exists and the question is not appropriate, but keep right as many other “locked” so long?

I hope that our children adjust to life “outside”, but I would not be surprised if their time spent in these circumstances, it is her life forever blight is.

While you can have no sympathy for offenders, I hope you will agree that there is something seriously wrong with our legal system so that this situation will continue, especially if our prisons are so full.
