The Waste of Solitary Confinement

Saturday, May 7th, 2011

The isolation and multiplied fully embodied, failure and waste of expenditure of U.S. prisons. Prison is an expensive way to hurt worse. Isolation is a very expensive way to make bad people worse. The United States continues to thousands of prisoners in “isolation”, more than other nations, as we house more prisoners than any other nation on a per capita basis. “Solitary” more than housing costs in the prison population in general. Solitary prisoners there at the head of the consumer: you get full speed the well-being, including room service and do nothing for someone else.

Solitario not eliminate violence in prison, in isolation, or the release of prisoners. While violent inmates can be isolated, the other bad guys in the new rule are in the prison population generally. Prisons breed violence. “Separation” refers to prisoners worse faster, more predictable and completely eliminating the possibility that it may never be productive members of society. E ‘units of prisoners insane, destroying their social skills and makes them angry. These isolates often lose mental capacity, hallucinations, paranoid and can not successfully interact with others.

Often prisoners in “The Hole” was not thrown the worst criminals on the outside. Instead, prisoners are the worst people can not handle life in prison. With the increased overcrowding in American prisons, with a view to disciplinary problems workers. Given the limited number of options that employees have to “Hell Hole” for regulation, protection, anti-gang and administrative reasons. This is because the model does not work as a general prison rehabilitation or deterrence. In the prison itself, does not even arrest the full benefits of failure – unless the prisoner is in “The Cooler” down. The legislature to fund hate on rehabilitation. Restrictive legislation bars private companies to offer more jobs to inmates in prison.

The isolation was a failure since its first operation. The strong punitive streak in the American public tolerate thought that as you gain experience and scientific studies, it is psychological torture. Of course prisons in the eyes of the people are hidden, so they have to torture it easy. In democracies, the United States is increasingly alone in its use of “isolation unit”. Isolation of human waste into tiny cages is a dead end, a source of future problems to the question – and it always has been.

Many Americans believe that the Old South slave owners were cruel, and do not realize that is what we do now with our 2.3 million prisoners far worse. Putting a slave in the South slaves would in light of the sun to work with their families and friends. To increase the participation of slaves, slave owners encouraged their slaves to marry too young too soon to “jump the broom.” The slaves were happy holidays seconds Frederick Douglass. Slaveholders knew how to make the work of shelling corn, construction, sewing and fun collection. The slaves have not earned their enslavement, but for many reasons, never imprisoned. The slaves may spend a week or a month in prison have, but they were too important to workers lock-up for longer periods. Old South slaves were much happier and less violent than our slaves New Age today.

The prisoners, especially in “The Hole”, it would be better if they treated like slaves before the war and forced to work. The Thirteenth Amendment allows involuntary servitude, in particular by the prisoners. Perhaps the punishment mentality of the American people, continuously reflects choose the politicians we would have to soften it, when they as prisoners of our slaves, that they are really made. The attempt to “human rights” for thieves, rapists, murderers and drug dealers not to sell work politically. The Quakers this humanitarian problem now – but apparently invented insulation in Pennsylvania.

We will never abolish prisons and isolation at all, but most of the criminals can now work in the prison in which 50 or 60 hours per week, as the slaves did. Hard work would be to teach valuable life skills for the use of prison inmates, significantly reducing the costs of detention and to bring more peace in prison. Crime victims would receive more back and support the families of the children of prisoners. Hard work is good for the prisoners and has the opposite effect of isolation. It’s time to sweep away restrictive federal and state laws, that the detainees be kept of the inactivity to this enormous waste in America at the end and make the most of our 2.3 million New Age slaves to work.
